Project Poster FAQ

What details of me (project poster) is available on Translator Town´s web site
The only details we display about you (project poster) on Translator Town´s web site are the following:
  • Your firstname and last name
  • Your country
However, when you reply to a bid that a translator (or a translation agency) has placed your email address will be available to the translator (or the translation agency)
 
How do I post a project?
Click on the ´post a project´ tab in the main navigation bar and follow the instructions
 
Who will know that I have posted a project?
The translators or translation agencies that have the same languages as your project´s languages will get notified by email about your project
 
What happens when a translator or translation agency bids on my project?
When a translator/translation agency bids on your project you will be sent an email to your registered email address
 
How do I accept a bid?
To accept a bid (or reply to a bid) you need to login to ´My Admin´ page, go to ´My Posted Projects´ page
Choose the relevant project and click on the ´view bids´ button to view all bids for the chosen project
Under the ´Accept or Reject Bid´ column on ´View Bids´ page you will see links for each bid
Click on the ´accept or reject bid´ link of the bid that you would like to accept and follow the instructions
 
What happens when I accept a bid?
When you accept a bid (or reply to a bid) your message along with your contact details (email address) will
be sent by email to the translator/translation agency that has submitted the bid
Also, the translator´s/translation agency´s contact details will be sent to your registered email address
 
How do I decline a bid?
To decline a bid (or close a bid) you need to login to ´My Admin´ page, go to ´My Posted Projects´ page
Choose the relevant project and click on the ´view bids´ button to view all bids for the chosen project
Under the ´Accept or Reject Bid´ column on ´View Bids´ page you will see links for each bid
Click on the ´accept or reject bid´ link of the bid that you would like to decline and follow the instructions
 
When can I provide feedback on the translator or translation agency?
To provide feedback on a translator/translation agency you need to login to ´My Admin´ page, then go to ´My Posted Projects´ page
On ´My Posted Projects´ page you will see all your posted projects listed
Click on the ´view bids´ button of the relevant project to view all bids
Under the ´Bid Status´ column of each bid there is a ´provide feedback on translator´ link
Click on the ´provide feedback on translator´ link and follow the instructions
(* If the status of a bid is not ´replied´ then the ´provide feedback on translator´ link will not be displayed)
 
How do I close my project to stop receiving bids?
If you wish to close your project and stop receiving bids you need to login to ´My Admin´ page, go to ´My Posted Projects´ page
You will see all your posted projects listed, choose the project you wish to close and click on the ´close´ button under the ´Close Project´ column
 
How do I pay the translator/translation agency for the project?
The payment method is negotiated between you (the project poster) and the translator/translation agency
We (Translators Town) only provide the web service online as a communication interface between the project poster and the translator/translation agency
We are not responsible for any financial matters between the project poster and the translator/translation agency
 

Translator/Translation Agency FAQ

What details of me (translator/translation agency) is available on Translator Town´s web site
Almost everything you have entered about yourself, your certificates, your education, your employment references and your tools will be available to users of Translator Town´s web site
However, the following details will not be available to users of Translator Town´s web site:
  • Your email address (will only be available to project posters that have responded to your bids)
  • Your telephone number (will only be available to project posters that have responded to your bids)
  • Your mobile number (will only be available to project posters that have responded to your bids)
  • Your fax number (will only be available to project posters that have responded to your bids)
  • Your post code
  • Your address line 1
  • Your address line 2
  • Your county
  • Your city
 
How do I bid on a project?
First you must have registered with us either as a translator or as a translation agency
After the registration process click on the ´Browse Projects´ link in the main navigation bar
Find the project you would like to bid on, click on the ´place a bid´ button and follow the instructions
 
What do the different statuses of my bid(s) mean?
  • If the status of your bid is ´replied´ it means that the project poster has shown interest in your bid and replied to your bid
  • If the status of your bid is ´pending´ it means that your bid is still pending and waiting for a reply from the project poster
  • If the status of your bid is ´closed´ it means that the project poster did not accept your bid
  • If the status of your bid is ´expired´ it means that your bid is no longer valid since the project has been closed
    All ´pending´ bids become ´expired´ when the project is closed
    An ´expired´ bid is technically the same as a ´closed´ bid
 
What happens when a project poster replies to my bid?
When a project poster replies to your bid the system will send the project´s posters contact details along with the project poster´s message to your email address
The system will also send your (translator/translation agency) contact details to the project poster
It is left to the project poster and you whether to proceed with the project or not
 
When can I provide feedback on the project poster?
You can only provide feedback when the status of your bid is ´replied´
To provide feedback on a project poster you need to login to ´My Admin´ page, then go to ´My Bids´ page
On ´My Bids´ page you will see all your bids listed
Under the ´Bid Status´ column of each bid there is a ´provide feedback on project poster´ link
Click on the ´provide feedback on project poster´ link and follow the instructions
(* If the status of a bid is not ´replied´ then the ´provide feedback on project poster´ link will not be displayed)
(* If you have already deleted the bid then you cannot provide feedback on the project poster)
 
How do I get paid for the project?
The payment method is negotiated between you (translator/translation agency) and the project poster
We (Translators Town) only provide the web service online as a communication interface between the project poster and the translator/translation agency
We are not responsible for any financial matters between the project poster and the translator/translation agency
